Fear of flying?

March 21, 2012

Didn’t have a plane pic (we are on the train here)…but you get the idea of how amazing the iPad will be on a long flight!

In a couple of days we fly to Koh Samui Thailand. This will be our third time flying with Miss Lily (Read about our first flight: here, and me getting nervous for the second flight: here) and I’m just dreading the 7 or so hours of hell!

Lily was actually very well behaved when we flew over to the UK. But now as a toddler, it takes more to amuse her, and she definitely makes it known when she isn’t happy. So I’m expecting a few tantrums, lots of crying, and dirty looks from our fellow passengers!

I’ll be bringing the iPad since it worked so well last time. Toys are going to be tricky as she is over the soft and quiet – i.e. small-enough-to-pack toys. I’m thinking lots of books, Mega Blocks, her Tiger (sleep aid and best buddy), her favourite music (she really likes Classical), and her car shape sorter.

With all the food and toys to pack, we decided to upgrade our hand luggage bag – so I chose to get the LV Keepall 55! DH preferred the Damier Ebene print over the Monogram (he said he didn’t want to look like someone from ‘The Only Way is Essex’ or ‘Jersey Shore’??!). And since the LV store was the place that Lily decided to throw her first public tantrum (why couldn’t she do this in Big W or Woolworths??) – I didn’t have any time to disagree so we promptly paid and left!

So what tips do you have for me (toys, games, iPad apps!) for flying with a fiesty toddler?

I’m not sure about the bag, but we wrapped 99 cent store gifts for the flight to China from the West coast. One present for every hour of flight. The biggest hit was the glow sticks. A computer of dvd player definitely helped.

    Good Luck,
