Alexa Chung is still sailing

March 7, 2011

I’m currently obsessed with collecting breton stripe tops as part of my mission to update my casual wardrobe. As Pablo Picasso and Coco Chanel have shown in the past, this look is so easy to wear and versatile.

After 3 years, Brit cool chick Alexa Chung is still rocking this look. The picture below is her combining this look with a trench coat and tights at the Matthew Williamson show during London Fashion Week 2011 – proving that stripes are still hot!

This season we are seeing the breton stripes in shades of mustard and camel – but I prefer the classic look: boat-neck, off-white with navy, red or black stripes.

Here are my favourite looks of Alexa ‘earning her stripes’.

She is a true master at getting the right balance of femininity and masculinity. Classic with a youthful twist…cute but never contrived…I love her!
