Little Miss Stubborn

February 11, 2011

Dear Lily

That fragile little sleepy baby introduced to me 3 months ago has now has now grown into quite an assertive young woman!

You are now showing a stubborn streak -a trait definitely inherited from Mummy – as you are refusing to take the bottle (after taking it everyday since you were born) and haven’t rolled over since doing it for the first time (much to Daddy’s dismay).

No longer content to see the world lying down, you have now graduated from the bassinet pram into the ‘big baby’s’ stroller (much to Mummy’s dismay).

And now that staring at the venetian blinds in the living room is no longer your favourite pastime, Mummy has to come up with more creative ways to stimulate you.

You are more playful and alert and getting good use out of your toys. Your favourite activity is feeling textures on fabrics and books.

You have started playgroup and swimming and enjoy interacting with other babies.

Doesn’t it feel great that we both are finally getting the hang of things?

Can’t wait to see what next month will bring!

I love this post — wouldn’t it be fabulous if our mothers kept notes like this? I’d love to read that…

p.s. Your posts of Lily make me want a little baby…

What a gorgeous girl! It must be so fascinating to see them develop their own little personality!

Sal – I hope that Lily does appreciate it one day! My mum didn’t keep any notes and me being 14 months younger than my brother was her excuse (i.e. second child syndrome).

Kitty – Thanks! I think she is gorgeous as well and even though it’s great she is showing her personality it does get frustrating!
