A Christmas Carol

December 29, 2010

I had a fantastic Christmas this year. I was getting used to Christmas being more for the kids, but now being a mother, I realise that it’s fun for parents too. I made sure the stockings were full and Lily even got a cheesy photo with Santa!

My in-laws are still over from the UK so we had to do ‘shrimps on the barbie,’ (prawns on the BBQ) for Christmas lunch. However, since  it was 40 degrees Celsius outside, we decided to eat the food inside with the air-conditioning.

Lily got this Santa onesie in her stocking. In the middle of unwrapping the gifts however, she did a colossal poop which ended up all over her rocker! So unfortunately she only wore it for 5 minutes…but thank goodness she had another Christmas outfit (phew).

I was too busy to organise a turkey in time so we did roast beef and chicken for Christmas dinner. We didn’t start dinner until 10pm as we were still full after lunch. But we did end up eating outside since it had cooled down – so the in-laws got to experience Christmas outdoors after all.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas too.

I also got some great news today. My sister-in-law gave birth to twin girls! Her labour was only 4 hours and she seems to be doing well.

My in-laws are here until New Years, and since the twins are over a month early, they can’t get over the fact that when they return home they will meet two new additional grand-daughters.

What a great end to a great year!

    Sounds like a perfect Christmas!
Next year will be even better because Lily will have some idea of what’s going on a bit more!
