We have our cot!

June 18, 2010

To tell you the truth, we didn’t have much criteria to buying a cot. Basically, we wanted a white cot which met the Australian safety standards and didn’t look or feel flimsy. We also only had a budget of $700. We didn’t care if it could convert to a toddler bed or a spaceship – we just wanted something that was solidly built and looked simple enough to blend with our other furniture.

We both loved the look of the Leander whitewash bed, but quickly decided it was way out of our price range (~$1500) and we didn’t need the extra features anyway.

So we decided on the King Parrot  Ulur cot. Simple, understated and most importantly, met all of our criteria plus we got it for under $500 from Baby on a Budget. Sweet!!! I’ve heard it’s a pain to assemble though, so might wait until my maternity leave to attempt it.

Nice purchase sassandspice! We have a similar cot from Bertini and it works really well.

If you haven’t bought a change table yet, check out the Hensvik from ikea.

This is TLG’s room from my old blog.

Oooo your nursery is gorgeous Ms Curious! I also like change table and saw it at Ikea today. DH decided on getting the Ikea Heimess drawers though as he wanted storage and is going to make a change table which will go on top of it. I’m finding it rather hard to visualise this though but he has proven himself in the past with his carpentry skills. Watch this space!
